No recent activity RCBA 2017-2018 College Prep program update
RCBA’s College Prep Fall Ball program is set to begin Wednesday, September 6th. Registration fee for this program will remain at $155. There will be a balance of practices and games throughout the Fall baseball season highlighted by the BC Baseball Fall Ball tournament held locally at Latrace Field September 29th – October 1st. The emphasis of Fall Ball is player development. Equally important, it is also an opportunity for players who wish to be part of the College Prep 2018 season team to demonstrate their abilities to the coaching staff. This includes not only their baseball playing skills, but demonstrating preparedness, good communication skills, sportsmanship and the ability to follow team rules. In this regard players are expected to show up for games and practices to allow the coaches to evaluate players. At the conclusion of Fall Ball players will be invited to Phase 1 of College Prep Winter Training. College Prep Phase 1 of Winter Training will commence Sunday, November 5th and conclude Sunday December 10th. Invited players will have the opportunity over a six week period to train, develop and continue to be evaluated for the upcoming 2018 season. The final roster for the 2018 BC Baseball season will be announced by Sunday, December 17th and will then continue into the New Year and start to prepare for the upcoming new season. For those interested in participating in Fall Ball please register at http://www.richmondcitybaseball.ca/page/show/3477407-fall-registration Any questions please do not hesitate to contact RCBA College Prep Head Coach Raul Verde Rios at raul@haydenbit.com or John Braaten president@richmondcitybaseball.ca

No recent activity RCBA Seeking 15U AAA Coach(es) for 2018 Season
Seeking 15U AAA Coach for 2018 Season Richmond City Baseball Association is seeking a dynamic, responsible role-model to provide instruction and coaching for the 15U AA/AAA program under the direction of the RCBA Executive Board. As part of RCBA’s initiative to place greater emphasis on player development and to provide more opportunities for players wishing to play in a “rep” program, the 15U AAA team is directly affiliated with our 15U AA program. The continued goal of this two-team 15U Bantam rep approach is to provide a more focused product, and wider developmental reach. Establishing and maintaining a direct relationship between AAA and AA will help first-year players potentially graduate to the AAA program as second-year players. In addition a more performance-oriented AA program will provide a greater developmental platform for second-year players that will aid in their transition from 15U AAA to 18U or College Prep programs. 15U AA/AAA will run joint practices both pre-season and throughout the season when schedules permit. Working with the RCBA Executive the Head Coach will introduce consistent systems play and approach, so first-year AA players will find less barrier to entry into AAA as second-year players, and second-year players will receive similar developmental opportunities that will help them move on to higher levels of play the following season. Both coaching staffs of the AAA and AA candidates will train together through Winter programming. Evaluations and tryouts will be held in the spring, and the AAA and AA rosters will be named in late Feb/early March. The Head Coach will oversee the 15U AA team throughout the Spring and Summer Seasons. The 15U AAA season starts in January with team selection try-outs and includes between 30 and 40 league, tournament and exhibition games throughout B.C., the season concludes with the Provincials Championships in early August with a possibility of representing B.C. at the BC Baseball events. The ideal candidate is someone who is prepared to put in the necessary amount of time and energy required to coach young baseball players, enjoys teaching the game, exhibits patience, and will promote a safe and positive baseball environment under the guidance of the RCBA Executive. A successful candidate will work jointly with both AAA and AA in conveying a common and consistent messaging of on-field and off-field program goals to aid in the progression through this program. Interested candidates must be willing to complete their required NCCP coaching certification for 15U AAA and go through the standard Richmond City Baseball Security Background Check prior to the start of the Spring Season. Richmond City Baseball Program that provides a unique remunerated opportunity to build on your coaching credentials. If you have what it takes and would like to help continue to build a dynamic baseball program please contact RCBA President John Braaten president@richmondcitybaseball.ca. Thanks, John Braaten President RCBA
