16U Selects end Tournament on High Note

In their final game the BC Baseball 16U Selects played their best game of the GSL 16U Summer Slam tournament beating City Baseball Navy, the #2 seed in Pool A, by a score of 5-1. This was a very tight game with the score 2-1 in Team BC’s favor until they added 3 insurance runs in the top of the 7th inning, using clutch hitting and stolen bases to top up the score. Team BC showed improvement in all aspects of their game as the pitching and defence was excellent in allowing only one run, and the hitting continued its improvement in showing plate discipline and making contact throughout the lineup.
Overall the team finished with a 3-1 record, and the tournament was a great experience for the players as they were able to attend a Seattle Mariners game on July 6th in addition to facing good competition in the tournament that forced them to extend themselves and put new skills and strategies to the test.
Congratulations to all of the players and good luck for the rest season.
