Team BC Day 3 at College Showcase Tournament

Wednesday August 23 – Our day started with wishing Trenton King a Happy 18th birthday! We have many August birthdays on our team (including Coach Shawn and Noah Zimmer). Today was our fourth game of pool play and we played Ontario Terriers 18U. Final score of the game was 5 -3. Moorman pitched a full 7 inning game and had great defence behind him, with perfectly played ground balls, catches in the field and a great double play from 3rd (Iversen) to 2nd (Hall) to 1st (Pankratz).

Offensively, 3RBI double by Kincek brought walked-players Iversen, Devuyst and HBP player Daniels home, clearing the bases and breaking open the game. Singles also by Schulz, Ray and Carpenter. Carpenter also had an RBI. Gernon stole home on an error by their shortstop. It was another amazing game for our Team BC and we have ended up undefeated (3 wins 1 tie), top in our pool and second overall in pool play. The boys will play on Thursday at 12:15 pm against Flemington Post who were top in pool C with 3 wins and 1 loss. We have every confidence in our boys to play their best and secure the win tomorrow! Go Team BC go! Our baseball community is very proud of you!

After the game we headed to Queens, New York for the Mets v. Dbacks game. We had great lower level seats by left field and Iversen almost got a foul ball (unfortunately, “almost” doesn’t cut it!) Mets did well tonight and it was a great game to watch. The boys enjoyed shopping (that’s the coaches as well) and everyone got a souvenir from Citifield (becoming instant Mets fans!).

Another fun-filled day for these young men, who are having the time of their lives.
