The 2018 BC Baseball 16U(Grade 10s ONLY) Team BC Selects Development camp wrapped up today in Aldergrove with the complete roster of 30 participants pushing hard all the way to the end.

Instructors, parents and players were overwhelmed with the level of skill demonstrated, the work ethic set the bar at new levels and the learning never stopped.

Thanks again to all those who made it happen… Ernie Young, Aaron Myette, Dave Diachuk, Al Forman, JJ Hyde, Grant Rimer, Alan Rimer, Michael Dagg, the folks at Aldergrove Minor Baseball, players and parents. There is no other program like the one experience this weekend!

The weather played nice offering the talented group of 18U players the opportunity to show off their best in a day long All Star Showcase attended by former MLB stars, college and university scouts and recruiters, and coaches.

The boys worked hard showcasing why they were chosen to compete and proved that the calibre of baseball is extremely strong in B.C. Baseball!

Starting off with the Gr. 11 players in the morning and closing with the Gr. 12 players in the afternoon they continued to set the bar at every point in the day long event. It was obvious as to why they belonged on the field together. They reflect the cumulative effort invested from the early days of our grassroots programming up to and including the apex of BC Baseball’s High Performance development options.

BC Baseball is proud of the selected players that participated, and a special thank- you to the coaches , volunteers and fans. Who helped make this a great day for baseball.

The future of these BC Baseball players is looking sharp and hungry. Come take in the events as the showcase continues, these players will not disappoint.

It’s going to be a great day!

What do you get when you put BC Baseball programming along with two MLB players like Outfielder/1B Ernie Young and Pitcher Aaron Myette together on a wet Friday night in Aldergrove?

You get 30 16U Grade 10 baseball players keyed up and completely unfazed by the weather. Underway by 4:00 PM tonight the players put in a solid four hours dedicating themselves to working their defensive fielding skills as well as balancing it out with offensive hitting training.

The players were able to take advantage of a full instructor line up beyond Ernie and Aaron including Dave Diachuk, Al Forman, JJ Hyde, Grant Rimer, Alan Rimer and Michael Dagg. There is no shortage of game knowledge on the ball field this weekend and the crew delivers, rain or shine!

This is just the first chapter of the three day Showcase weekend that draws the attention of scouts, post secondary recruiters, high performance coaches and the baseball community. Tomorrow sees the the players back on the field to go back at it!
