Wilkinson Academy’s very own Pete Wilkinson returns to the stage at BC Baseball’s 2019 Coaches Conference to share his insights on athlete development. His approach in regard to the overall development of athletic performance ecompasses a well rounded philosophy that draws a connection of the behaviours and mindset of players between practice and game, sport and everyday life. Pete has been recognized nationally and internationally for the quality of his teaching, coaching and mentoring his students.
He has been awarded the American Baseball Coaches Association’s “Collegiate Baseball News Tom House Teaching Professional of the Year Award”
He served as Exclusive National Consultant for the development of both the baseball and softball Olympic Development Programs of the former Soviet Union
He is on the Canadian national youth baseball coach certification faculty for BC Minor Baseball
He has been a member of the National Pitching Association’s coach and player development faculty and later a Regional Director of that organization
He has been named Conference Coach of the Year in his stint as head coach at Bellevue High School in Washington, and he has coached high school teams who have won Conference, District, Regional and State Championships
Academy alumni include NCAA and NAIA National Champions, Major Leaguers, College World Series participants and winners, All-Americans, Conference champions and statistical record holders (including single season home runs, single season ERA, career hits), and have numbered nearly 100 MLB draftees.
Virtually all of Pete’s students have earned at least one college degree, and in excess of 90% of them have played college baseball.
Pete is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association.

BC Baseball leads the way with baseball pioneer Andre Lachance as a feature speaker for the 2019 BC Baseball Coaching Conference.
Lachance as been at the helm of the Canadian Women’s National Team program since it’s inception in 2004. His impact on the sport in Canada and at the International level sets the gold standard. Lachance’s leadership has seen the Canadian Women’s program drive in five medals in seven appearances at Women’s Baseball World Cup events. They currently sit No. 2 on the WBSC Women’s Baseball world rankings.
In addition to that, Lachance has insulated the program from a development perspective by creating a path to the national team. Competitive players throughout the country now have three different Baseball Canada National Championship tournaments to strive for including a 16U event that will see all ten provinces competing for the first time ever in August.

BC Baseball is excited to announce the booking of former MLB Umpire Larry Young as a feature speaker for the 2019 BC Baseball Coaching Conference.
After beginning his career in the American League in 1985, #28 worked almost a quarter century including the 1996 and 2003 World Series, the American League Championship Series in 1992, 1998 and 2002, two All-Star Games (1991, 2003), and in six Division Series (1996, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004); he was crew chief for the 2004 ALDS between the Anaheim Angels and Boston Red Sox.
Larry was on the field working when Nolan Ryan recorded his 5,000th strikeout and Rod Carew and Dave Winfield both reached 3,000 hits. He was also the first umpire named to serve on Official Playing Rules Committee.
