The Township Blue Sox (North Langley and Aldergrove Baseball Associations) are very pleased and honoured to announce that Kevin Nicholson will be joining our Township Blue Sox - College Prep coaching staff for the 2020 season. Over the years, Kevin has led both the North Langley Peewee AAA and the Township Blue Sox Bantam AAA – programs to provincial births. In his first season, Kevin’s efforts were recognized by BC Minor Baseball who named him the Coach of the Year for the 13U division. Kevin has the ability to make players better, both mentally and physically.

Kevin's baseball background is extensive, to say the least.  He was drafted by the California Angels in1994, but rather than sign he chose to attend Stetson University, where he played college baseball.  Kevin’s college accomplishments include being named Conference Player of the Year in 1997. He re-entered the draft in 1997 where he was selected in the first round, 27th overall, by the San Diego Padres.

Kevin spent three seasons in the minors, before making it to the majors where he played 37 games for the Padres in 2000. He later spent time in the Colorado RockiesSt. Louis Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Pirates organizations.

He was also a member of the Canadian National Baseball Team for several years. In 2001, he was part of their Baseball World Cup team and was part of Team Canada's fourth-place team in the 2004 Summer Olympics. In addition, he played for Canada at the inaugural World Baseball Classic in 2006.

We look forward to big things with our College Prep program here in the near future.
