BC Baseball is excited to announce the booking of former MLB Umpire Larry Young as a feature speaker for the 2019 BC Baseball Coaching Conference.

After beginning his career in the American League in 1985, #28 worked almost a quarter century including the 1996 and 2003 World Series, the American League Championship Series in 1992, 1998 and 2002, two All-Star Games (1991, 2003), and in six Division Series (1996, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004); he was crew chief for the 2004 ALDS between the Anaheim Angels and Boston Red Sox.

Larry was on the field working when Nolan Ryan recorded his 5,000th strikeout and Rod Carew and Dave Winfield both reached 3,000 hits. He was also the first umpire named to serve on Official Playing Rules Committee.
